texto en inglésVilvestre del Pinar is a typical mountain town, where there is a controlled camping area. This town has traditionally devoted itself to agriculture, farming and forestry. The people from the mountain organized themselves in brotherhoods, so as to transport wood and other products by means of carts. They made a livelihood cutting pines, which in turn served to preserve the pine forest. This right was acknowledged by King Carlos IV and it was officially recognized in the year 1972 with the pine privilege. Artistic heritage includes the church of San Martín de Tours, which is situated on top of anthropomorphic sepulchres that have been carved on the rock that surrounds the church. The most outstanding parts of the temple’s interior are the floor and the wooden coffered ceiling. The church of San Martín presides over impressive large houses and palaces, which still show splendor of the past of the village as a cart centre.
